Return now
to the place where God has given you responsibility.
Remember the peace and love we have celebrated.
And do not fail to show to all people
the new life that is already among us.
Have courage.
Hold on to what is good.
Return no one evil for evil.
Strengthen those who fail.
Support the weak, and honor all life.
And the blessing of God:
Father,
Son,
and
Holy Spirit,
go with you
and remain with you
now and always.

December 31, 2017 - First Sunday after Christmas
In the beginning was the Word, . . . . . . . and the Word was with God,
and the Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God
All things came into being through him,
and without him not one thing came into being.
What has come into being in him was life, / / / / / and the life was the light of all people.
The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness did not overcome it.
- The Gospel of John 1:1-5

Jesus said, "You are the salt of the earth, but if salt has lost its taste, how can its saltiness be restored? It is no longer good for anything, but is thrown out and trampled under foot.
You are the light of the world.
A city built on a hill cannot be hid. No one after lighting a lamp puts it under the bushel basket, but on the lamp stand, and it gives light to all in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others,
so that they may see your good works
and give glory to your Father in heaven."
